Casino Williams 1958 Desktop

http://roguepinball.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=372My exploration via recreating the early post-war games of Williams and Gottlieb to experience the evolution of flipper pinball design and innovation hands-on continues with Williams Casino. Casino was released in August 1958. Designed by Harry Williams with George Molentin artwork, it is not known how many Casino games were produced.

Casino was interesting to me for a couple of reasons.  First, this is near the end of Harry Williams' first pinball design era, and it seems a bit less like he's doing the radical innovation he did earlier. But while the game design seems a bit more mainstream, it has the trick of a "Mystery Mirror" backglass with projected card images that track your progress at achieving the game goals. The result of this trick is that the back glass on most of the Casino games seen today are in very bad shape as the silvering has delaminated and fallen off in chunks. It turns out this game is (in my opinion) more fun to play than many of the later Willams designs. As with all my games, pressing the "R" key gives you game rules, and the "A" key loads the ball.

FS version available.
