Speedy recovery and best wishes for a good friend
« on: June 30, 2015, 03:10:20 AM »
You guys know him as PBecker1946. I know him as Phil, my pinball friend. He's the guy who makes all the EM's you know and love. In about 6 hours from now he's going into surgery for ankle replacement. In the 70's he had a motorcycle accident which has left him pain for years on that leg. He's having this surgery to hopefully be out of pain for good. While it's not life threatening, any surgery is always a risk. So I'm starting this as a show of support, something he can look at to help him get by.

Once he's back home, and out of pain he has his work station setup so he can work on vp while recovering.  Hey, I'm not an ogre, I gave him the whole week off :Green: (jk).

That's me on the left, and Phil on the right.

I did my part to aid in his healing!   I sent him healing energy.

If anyone's interested, he's doing well. The surgery went well, and he'll probably be doing rehab soon. Today's his 69th birthday. Happy Birthday Phil!!! :Happybirthday: :Pinball:

Well.....

After fourteen months and twenty-one days, how goes the rehab, PB?

Thanks for asking.  It's going simply great - better than I could have dared hope in fact.

With the new robot ankle I'm truly mobile again for the first time in a decade.  The rehab has been a lengthy journey of "stretch and strengthen" to overcome the atrophy in the leg, but I'm largely over the hump now and it's really amazing that I can truly walk again.  Just did a two mile walk this morning with no real pain. My achilles tendon aches a tiny bit, but that's all and it gets better every week or so as long as I keep doing the exercises I'm supposed to.
