TESTING DELL LATITUDE D430 laptop...
« on: April 03, 2014, 04:24:45 PM »
This laptop runs like wildfire. WOW. Kind of hard to see the little 1280x800 screen but this is nice. STUPID mouse stick gets in the way when I'm typing. Will have to get used to it.

 :Hi (2):
Done. Take care folks.

I have NEVER had a connection as good as this WITHOUT the Netgear adapter plugged in. WOW. This is one amazing little netbook! The Dell D430 LOVES PCLinuxOS!!!!

This is completely awesome!

Now all I need is the 65watt Power adapter and I'm set! Got the original hard disk to work just fine. This machine BLAZES.
Done. Take care folks.

Got the original 100GB Toshiba ZIF drive to run on this! Seems the power cord (which is paper thin) wasn't in the slot properly! Go figure. I now have five lines on my wi fi connection NOT USING a USB wireless adapter! I'm using the INTERNAL wi fi, which is located to the right side of the machine via a switch. Slide the switch forward, the wi fi goes off. Slide it back and it comes on. How neat is that???

Works perfectly in PCLinuxOS. I wonder how it will work when I get Windows XP on here. I may even try to install Windows 7 on this little guy.

Anyway, laptop AND desktop are now running. I do my VP work on the desktop and go online using my little Dell D430 Latitude netbook.

Cheers.

I got this laptop for free, but if you're looking for a CHEAP and FAST way to do some online stuff or work on graphics this is the way to go. Some of the things built into this little machine are a bit tricky to fumble around with, but once you get everything running you'll be a very happy user.
