Had to go to another place for work (a different customer). Apparently we had a storm overnight. From what the radio said, Chicago got 3 inches of rain in an hour. Here's a picture from work. The streets were about as deep as this picture. There were cars AND trucks stuck in the water. People go way to fast. I did 5 mph, steady and rode the "wave" under the car. Someone managed to stall a pickup truck with considerably more ground clearance. Not my Escort. Not even a sputter once. I had water to just below the hood release and went through ok. The water was enough to set off my seat belts (they slide on a track when you open/close the door, the water was up to the switch). The only problem was I got water IN the car. Damn rust holes... Who mentioned a screen door on a submarine?
