Title: A new arcade opens!
Post by: Itchigo on November 08, 2014, 11:34:53 PM
For anyone living west of Chicago this is an up and coming arcade.

This relatively new/still in progress arcade is to be watched. It's soon to be a beercade with drinks and food. My wife and I were shown the "backroom" which was to be the arcade itself, when it wasn't going to be ready fast enough the landlord gave them this smaller room to get up and running. I never did count, but my guess is about 30 pinball machines and a couple video games. Some need some love, and a couple were not working, but how can you beat 5$ for an hour and 10$ for the night? There's even a good restaurant 2 doors down, so go early and eat first. :pizza:

Some games you didn't see were:

Mata Hari,
Flash
Aztec
Pitch and bat (50's)
Flight 2000
and a few others, including a bowler.

One main problem is the floors- the building is 100 years old, and the floors are not level, or even. Almost EVERY table needs to be individually leveled because of this. But the "new" area has a concrete floor, so it'll be easier to fix this problem.

They are only open Friday and Saturday nights by the way. This is because the owner has another job, and operates a small route near Champaign Illinois (forgot to get his name, sorry).

All in all, this is worth the small amount of money if you're in the area, and it'll only get better with time.

Cool!  :Green: Wish something like that was just down the road here. How far is that from you?

It's 26 miles. A bit of a drive, but since I love old SS/EM's, well worth it. There is another one closer, but it's mostly video games.

Well you are lucky to have both places.  I don't know of a decent arcade within 100 miles of me. Even the local Pizza Hut took out their one and only Anniversary Ms. pac/Galaga back in the spring. Their is a mini put that has about 20 old arcade games is various states of disrepair and they even have a 'No good Gofers' but it looks horrible and the flippers are too weak to get the ball past the middle of the table.
