http://roguepinball.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=549Cross Country was released by Bally in January, 1963 and was designed by Ted Zale. Bally was late entering the flipper game market.  They did three multi-player flipper games in 1956 and 1957, but it was in 1963 that they began their run of flipper games that became quite popular.  These games were all designed by Ted Zale, and Cross Country is the first one that was truly his design.  Ted Zale is a pinball hall of fame designer and several of what would become his trademark design elements show up in his first game.  The extensive use of rollunders, a free ball gate (his invention with this game) and the tilted top entry lanes.
