Hello from Arkansas
« on: October 24, 2013, 04:36:30 PM »
Hi from Arkansas

I'm Chris Nogy, I have been working with computers since 1976 and building gaming emulator systems since MAME first appeared.

I have 2 pinball cabinets, both 42/26/19 3 monitor systems.  I have developed a non-contact analog plunger that works in VP with a UHid-G, that is about the extent of my engineering input to this hobby, but I have learned much about coding tables.  I am working most now on frontends and getting the most out of them.

I like the table play of VP tables and the look of FP tables, I run both on my cabinet.  I have attached a picture of the end of my cave with both machines - one is purely an experimenter's cabinet that I use to mount new hardware, cut extra holes, try new things, the other is my presentation cabinet, the one that goes with me to events and parties and such.  I am currently working on a radically different 3 monitor table done in a 'Jetson's" kind of style - the same mechanics as my presentation machine with a radically different exterior and control set.

Anyways, that's about it for me.  I am looking forward to seeing what this board has to offer, and maybe give a bit back as well.

Chris

Hi Chris! Glad to see you! Glad to see a participating member.

We don't have the huge table selection some other sites have, but we do have unique tables you can't get anywhere else. We also have a table sharing area, if you're missing a specific table. We also have a "show us your cab" area if you want to get more in depth. I also have table templates in downloads to help people build their own, -and they're full screen ready!

I'm an author myself, so don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. No permissions are neccessary to upload content here. There is a sort of "procedure" to upload, but that's only because I can't afford all the site extras here.

As far as frontends, I'm a huge fan of Pinball X myself. (Pinballx.net I think). I have 329 tables and counting. I'd love to find a way to put my setup here for everybody.

I'd love to see some pictures of your plunger. It would give me some ideas on what to do with my woodrail plunger. (I have a woodrail cab).

Hey, Chris! Welcome to the Rogue.

That cab on the left is making my mouth water!  :Green: Looks very sweet, must be very nice to play. Would be interesting to see the one on the right all lit up, look forwrd to further posts if you can.

I'm more of an avid player myself, simply because of time constraints. Speaking of which ... I'm due back on the shop floor ...

See you around the Rogue!  :Pinball:
