Veterans Day

Rukia:
Thank you never seems to be enough, but...
THANK YOU to all Veterans... past, present, and future, for your service to this country and for the sacrifices you have made for our freedoms.  May you forever be within our hearts so that we never forget.
This is for the Veterans who are still living.
This is for the men and women who have died in battle.
This is for the ones who are currently serving in our military.
This is for the ones still missing in action.

You are honored and loved.  Thank you.

I only put in eight months and got a general discharge
does that still make me a veteran?
I don't even put it down on job applications  due to the fact I never saw action
heck I didn't even finish out my schooling at Chanute AFB
got me a dear 'John' letter halfway thru basic (actually a 'dear god' letter, read on)
and since I joined for her mainly (to better myself so she said)
I had no reason to stay once she 'found god' and had no room in her life
for the two of us so guess who lost out?
but for those who really served... God Bless You All!!
she became a 'born again Christian' and had no room in her life for me

Itchigo:
Yes, it does make you a veteran. Wow, small world! You and Pintrepid were at Chanute, and I used to go there all the time to deliver stuff!! :D

faralos:
I went for jet engine repair in '83
in the damn winter too! man does it ever get cold up there!
and imo there is WAY too much corn out there
all I can remember is field after field of cornstalks!
it may be different now though
and our damn yell (call?) was 3423 3423 (our flight number) jet mech jet mech   awoo!
lame huh?

Rukia:
Yes.  Even if you didn't see battle, it still makes you a veteran, at least to me.  Thank you for your service.

My brother enlisted in the Air Force at about that time too.  He passed the enlistment test the first time at 99%.   He loved planes, but his vision was too bad and he was too tall (6'7") to fly, so they made him a airplane mechanic and crew chief!
