First off, this table is amazing to me because it was released the year I was born. It is so cool to see the state of pinball tech at the time of my birth.
Even though I feel like I grew up in a high tech world this table really helps bring me back to reality.
Kinda reminds me I was playing with wind up cars and pull string talking toys back then and not the Atari, Coleco, and Commodore electronics that I recall from my teen years.
In spite of the low tech, this table is still very complex and quite fun.
One part of this table I found particularly hard to get use to is the fact that you must often allow the ball to bounce off the bottom before using a flipper.
Raising the flipper too soon creates a huge out lane & may even cause the ball to bounce off the backside of the flipper and out of play.
This "waiting to act" goes against your basic pinball instinct and makes this sort of a unique challenge.
That is if the challenge of light the 3 coins was not enough for you.
To light the 3 coins you must score the A-Q-K-J-10 rollovers consecutively. Each time through the cards will light another coin.
The second time through will light the left and right rollover lanes for "SPECIAL" in addition to the second coin.
The third time will light the last coin and the moving target for "SPECIAL".
Considering how hard it is to actually hit the moving target I'm not sure this "SPECIAL" will do you much good even if you can get that far.
3 Coins is a very fun EM treasure and even though it's the same vintage as myself it's fun factor has stood the test of time much better that I have.
If you are a fan of EM's like I am this one need to be on you cab.
Once again big thanks to the EM God's PBecker1946 & Itchigo for saving another great EM classic from obscurity!
