Put a face to the name you're talking to! This is temporary until we can make it a permanent part of the site.

how do I get my pic into the pinball peoples gallery?
I see that I am not in there as of yet
-
PM Yogi here, it's his place.
-
faralos, I got your new pic about two weeks ago. It will be there after the next update.
Until then you have to accept that your previous pic is still shown there.
As it's always some work to update the gallery, I don't update it currently for each single
pic, but after I got some few more pics. Expect the next update soon anyway.
You're wrong about this: "I see that I am not in there as of yet". You probably still didn't
look at it in detail.
Check this: http://www.vpforums.org/PPG/gallery/pinballpeoplegallery-faralosjpg-stopp.htm (http://www.vpforums.org/PPG/gallery/pinballpeoplegallery-faralosjpg-stopp.htm)
The gallery is the same as at VPF. Only some links are changed. I uploaded the gallery to my own
webspace to make it useable for roguepinball too, because lately it was hosted by VPF (only).
The gallery was never intended to be available exclusively for VPF and it wasn't, but I used the offer
of VPF to host it. I maintain the pinball people gallery as my thank for all the people who made VP
and VPM available and who contributed and helped in any way to make them to succeed.
-
oh okay my bad I thought it was just for us pinheads
and not so much the actual dev team
or people who helped to make vp what it is today
-
The gallery was always and still is for all pinheads and contains pics of all kinds of pinheads of all pinball times.
I don't see your problem there.
-
I don't think anyone's excluded from the gallery. Whether you're just a player or a coder, I don't think it matters. Yogi, thanks for maintaining the gallery, it's awesome! It's really cool to "see" who you're talking to. I know I don't have nearly as long of a history with vp as you do. Thanks for letting us put it up (at least in this thread for now). I had read something a quite while ago and got the impression from what I read that you were tiring of maintaining it. I thought it was a good way to support you. :)

Yes, that was true. Thanks Tim. But I came to conclusion that it's best, if I keep on maintaining the gallery.
Condition/requirement to hand it out to anyone else, if I ever come to that decision, was, that it's continued
under agreement on my previous terms of use, means independent from everything and without any restriction.
As I don't see that fulfilled anywhere I keep on maintaining it further myself. I hope you understand what I mean.
It's diffcult to phrase in English.
-
Essentially I think you mean as long as it's done totally impartially and the way you'd like it, someone else can do it, but if those conditions aren't met, you'll keep doing the site yourself. I wouldn't dream of taking it from you. I only wanted to share it with other members. I don't think I'd be a candidate for taking it over either. Anything with the internet is fleeting too. Very few places stay around successfully a long time. We could be around a year, or the next 20 years.
-
Yes, that's what I mean. The gallery should be always free from any pinball forum politics, personal friendships or animosities,
and what else negative influence I just can't phrase. In all the years there's only one single incident with one well known person
that forced me to remove the pic from the gallery. I'm still sure that it was only a misunderstanding, caused by a message that
didn't arrive me. I'm sorry about, but that's life.
I uploaded the gallery to my own place too, so you can use it here without hassle. Updates may need a little longer as I now have
to build two versions (which only differ in some few links or so), but it was my decision to offer it to use at roguepinball.
-
Gallery is updated and you now can visit it from "Our Member Perks" on the main page here.
-
Hey Yogi :D
Good to see the gallery still going strong.
Keep up the good work and thanks.
Very much like your opening menu screen to the gallery

I still like the dancing letters too. Thanks Buzz.
-
I would like to be put into collection-album photographs.
I send you my picture.
Thanks in advance

I just sent an email to Yogi. He hasn't been here for a while but he will get the email.

Hi all. Last visit long time ago.
I'm fine and still enjoy my new home after the move nearly exactly a year ago.
I didn't miss pinball and the forums much. In that time I didn't play any game
at PC, not pinball, not anything else.
It feels I forgot how to spell english words and the small grammar, I learned
while active in pinball forums, and any phrasing.
About the gallery there's a problem. I don't want to continue the care of the gallery.
I wish anyone takes it over. Then there's the next problem. There's the gallery to
reach from here (roguepinball) and the same gallery to reach from VPForums.
The first I host myself, the other one is hosted by VPForums. Reason: Possible
argues from VPForum (not sure), if there's a direct link to it from here. As it's
not a special forum gallery, but - as the name says - a pinball people gallery,
it's applied to be available from everywhere.
Is it understandable what I mean? How to solve the problem?
Tries to give over the gallery to anyone else of confidence were unsuccessful.
I could possibly contact Noah and try to bring a solution.
Please let me know your ideas.

Yogi, let me talk to Pintrepid. I can't afford to host another site but I make a special area here and maintain it that way. Let me talk to him and see what we can do.
Whether or not Paul has it or not means nothing to me. I have no problem with BOTH of us having it, but if only he has it, it will stay that way. But the fight has gone out of me as far as our differences. He can do his thing and I'll do mine.
Good to see you again by the way. :Hi:
-
Afford? I don't think there are additional costs, if the gallery is at
http:// roguepinball.com/pinballpeoplegallery/index.html
or something like that, or?
I can zip all the needed pics and make them available to download
for you at my place. Then you can use any gallery builder software
of your choice and make your own one. I think it was a nice idea to
use the first page with the dancing letters, if you want. I will make it
available for you.
I will wait for your answer.
Let's talk about further using e-mail.
Edit: Ups, I actually can't post from my googlemail account. So let's
continue here.
-
What I meant by afford is host another site. But there is a lot I don't know about this website stuff too. But if it's like you said here at http:// roguepinball.com/pinballpeoplegallery/index.html I can do that.
And I wouldn't dream of losing the dancing letters. That's what most people remember about the gallery. It's iconic.
You can pm me the files here too if you want. It may take a bit to get up and running because next week I have a job interview, and I'm putting all my energy into that- I want that job! :Green:
But in the meantime I'll see about getting the gallery setup.
Edit: I found a package that I can use to setup a gallery. It'll be a manual process getting it setup though. The only thing I'm having trouble with would be setting up that page with the dancing letters. But I'm sure that can be solved. For another day. :Content:
-
Gallery is up. Wasn't as hard as I thought it might be.
-
It's up? Where?
However, let me know if and what you eventually still need to run the gallery.
Good luck by getting the job.
-
Right now I have to be the one to add pictures But you should be able to view it. I'm not sure how to work the dancing letters in but I will figure it out. :Green:
I think all I need are the pictures, and whatever pictures I need for the dancing letters. What you can do is just zip up the files and pm them to me. I have pm attachments set pretty high (50 mb), it shouldn't take more than 2.
And thanks! I intend to win. :awaken:
-
I will attach the zips to e-mails, as PM doesn't work at all, with and without attachments.
Edit: No, I can't e-mail, because I don't know the address. Your e-mail from a few days ago is already deleted.
-
Yogi I sent you a new email so you could reply.
The only 2 problem I'm having with it right now is getting the name to show above the picture and how to use the dancing letters. Once I get these things figured out I'll open it to the members and the new members will be able to add their own picture.
-
I will e-mail later today. Please note that I use another of my e-mail addresses.
I don't see why there should be a problem using the dancing letters. You could
upload the html page with the dancing letters to any available place at roguepinball,
link to that page from the menu (Gallery) and then from that page link to your
gallery starting page (http://roguepinball.com/index.php?action=gallery (http://roguepinball.com/index.php?action=gallery)), so it's just
interposed. I hope you understand what I mean.
To show the name I guess you could somehow use the filename without the file extension,
but I don't know exactly, how to do that.

All sent. :Downapint:
