My exploration via recreating the early post-war games of Williams and Gottlieb to experience the evolution of flipper pinball design and innovation hands-on continues with Williams Wonderland. Wonderland was released in April 1955. Designed by Harry Williams with George Molentin artwork, It is not known how many games were produced but this game is rare today.  While I mostly focus on game play, I was drawn to this game by what I think is George Molentin's best pinball artwork effort. As I say each time, I'm not an artist, but I worked long and hard to honor this art effort as it's simply beautiful.

There are several strategies to pursue in this game, but the hardest by far is to get all five balls in the gobble hole for the five replay special. Lighting the lower "500,000 when lit" and the top "100,000 When Lit" options is based on making specific playfield objectives that are not specified but rather must be learned through game play. Overall Wonderland's game play isn't up to it's art work, but it's fun and looks great. As with all my games, pressing the "R" key gives you game rules and the "A" key loads the ball.
