Nova by Starman - directb2s available?
« on: December 06, 2022, 06:16:31 AM »
Hi,
Found this very nice and very playable VP9 table: Nova , an original by Starman.
I have one big problem, the backglass file is in old .exe format.
It opens, but it's half overlays the table  display and half on the backglass display.
I can't move the b2s... Is there any hint to give the backglass another position?
Or do exist a newer backglass in .directb2s format?
It would be very pity if I can't play this wonderful table because of this problem

I haven't played this in a while, but I don't think the .exe is your problem. I've seen it where the table "forgets" it's position. Check your screenres.txt. Also, play with the X/Y coordinates in the editor. Don't save it unless it works. I don't think a b2s of it is out there as it's from 2011.

Hi Tim,
Just to give you info...
I found the "problem" with backglass.
My screenres.txt is (as it should) up to date, with the commentary lines in it. As since b2s-server V1.4x...
But the old B2S exe files are "compiled" with older b2s-server, so they don't know these additional lines, so they can't read the file.
Now I removed the comment lines and - the backglass is where it should :-)

Gotcha. I was just starting to understand b2s when direct b2s came out.
